With abundant raw material from the continent's largest livestock population, Ethiopia's leather and leather products industries generate the country's third largest export income, outranked only by proceeds from coffee and oils and spices. More than 20 tanneries process large numbers of hides and skins into wet blue, crust and finished leathers. Ethiopian Suede Leather is considered the finest suede kid in the world.


This is Bati Genuine, a type of skin highly esteemed for its exceptional quality.  These leathers are mostly utilized to produce leather goods, leather garments, very fine ladies footwear and gloves.

The Taytu made in Ethiopia project has worked with tanneries and leather goods producers in order to create a fashion collection which proposes leather accessories with a high level of quality and innovative material elaborations.
